Settings

The Powderhorn Chateau can provide a range of event settings depending on the type of event or special occasion you are organising.

Weddings

• Exchanging vows – The bride and groom can exchange marriage vows in a natural setting close to our property – there are some special spots we know well.
• Wedding dinner and speeches – We provide you with private use of the Matterhorn Restaurant and Bar. This caters for between 110 and 130 people depending on whether or not you would like a lounge area.
• Wedding party – Following the formalities, space is cleared for dancing to your choice of music.

Parties

• Matterhorn Restaurant & Bar – We offer private usage of the Matterhorn, catering for up to 140 people. Various indoor and outdoor bar areas can be set up for these occasions. Offer available all year round.
• Powderkeg Restaurant and Bar – A great place to party with your friends, offering a relaxed atmosphere and frequently used for birthday celebrations, stag parties and hen nights.
• Balcony BBQs and canapés – A wonderful area to host drinks and canapés. The surrounding native bush and the Mangawhero River provide a stunning backdrop for any special occasion.
• Private dining – The Matterhorn Restaurant and Bar has private dining available during the winter months and we can comfortably cater for up to 75 people. Booking in advance is recommended as the Matterhorn is busy over the winter period.
