The Bridge to Nowhere – Jet Boat & Canoe Tour
From the tiny, historically significant village of Pipiriki nestled on the banks of the Whanganui River, passengers will journey up-stream by jetboat into the heart of the Whanganui National Park. Allow a full day for this activity. The scenery is breathtaking and the reflections great for photography. The jetboat stops at Mangapurua Landing where passengers disembark and walk approximately 40 minutes through native bush before arriving at the historic ‘Bridge to Nowhere’. There they are told the captivating story of the bridge and how it came to be built. Following a picnic lunch, visitors return to the boat. Rather than returning by jetboat, there is the option to canoe back to Pipiriki. Drift back down stream and experience the peace and tranquility of the river .

If you’re lucky, you may even catch a glance of the endangered Blue Duck who reside in these waters.
